AMANDA HAGEMAN

Instructional Leadership Coach

Amanda Hageman has spent close to two decades working in education as a teacher, school leader, and coach. As an Instructional Leadership Coach, Amanda supports leaders to leverage their strengths and build their instructional muscles to improve outcomes for students in mathematics.  Her clients include both traditional public schools and charter school networks across the country.  Through their work together, her schools have seen tremendous growth- for example, one recent school saw students grow 41% over the course of the year on their math assessment.  Thanks to tailoring coaching for each school’s needs, partner schools were 97% satisfied with support.

Amanda began her career in education as a first grade teacher in the Houston Independent School District.  After teaching, she served as the Managing Director of Program for Teach For America- Houston, leading a team of coaches responsible for the performance of 250 Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade teachers throughout the city.  More recently, Amanda was the founding principal of Achievement First Linden Elementary School in Brooklyn, New York where 3rd and 4th graders outperformed the state non-poor average in math and outperformed host districts in English/Language Arts on the NY state exam.  After her principalship, Amanda began focusing on her passion of supporting leaders to increase outcomes for kids, first at Accelerate and now across the country, including with Leap Educational Consulting.

Outside of work, Amanda travels full time and enjoys spending her free time hiking, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new cities.
